New Dragon Ball Z OAV 2008

We weren't excepting it ... For its 40 years, the japanese magazine Shonen Jump just released a new OAV (Original Anime Video, or a little movie / episod that is out of chronology in the serie) based on ... wait for it ... Dragon Ball Z! Directed by Akira Toriyama himself.

The story isn't more original than the previous OAVs: deux years after the Maijin Buu defeat, all is going well. Goku eat all he can, Gohan still studies, Vegeta is on his own, Satan says to everyone that he saved the world again... But! While Satan is organising a party to celebrate his new hostel, two villains arrive on Earth to do bad things...

The battles aren't the best point in this OAV too. We can coun't them in the fingers of a single hand...

However, graphisms are very good. We recognize the quality we have on the openings of the latest DBZ video games on PS2. The use of 3D and new technologies has to be mentionned too, and it's a good thing :)

That's so a good surprise for the fans (but don't expect wonders! that's more muche a bonus at the end of a DVD than an entire OAV). I personnaly liked it ^^ since the begening with the Head Cha-la opening (with new graphisms too by the way).
